Veterans Law Lawyer

About Castillo Law, PLLC

From a young age, I knew early on I wanted to be a lawyer.  After completing my bachelors in government and international politics at George Mason University, I made my way to Lansing, Michigan, where I met my brilliant, beautiful wife and received a Juris Doctor, with honors, at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  During law school, I developed an keen attention to detail and an aptitude for legal research and writing, which honed as Managing Editor of the Law Review and an intern at the Michigan Court of Appeals.

After law school, I joined the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, where I discovered my passion for veterans law.  Each appeal became a unique puzzle, weaving a veteran’s story into the evolving tapestry of statutes, regulations, and case law.  After 12 years at the Board—where I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Veterans Law Review and worked with some of the brightest minds in veterans law to litigate over 2,000 appeals as an attorney and decide over 400 as an acting veterans law judge—I wanted to take my skills and experience directly to veterans and their families.

At Castillo Law, the mission is simple:  use my God-given talent and experience to help veterans and their dependents receive the benefits they deserve.  In service of my mission, I will relentlessly pursue all potential entitlements—eliciting evidence relevant to the constantly-shifting legal landscape and providing VA or the Court with a clear, compelling roadmap to justice.
